The haldi ceremony is all about prosperity. It symbolizes the beginning of a new life for newly wedded couples and is said to ward off evil spirits. Haldi, or tumeric powder, is put on the bride and groom the day before their wedding as part of their wedding preparation. This vibrant, beautiful Hindu tradition can vary by region or family belief but either way it is beautiful and SO much fun to photograph!
